Diodes, Inc. Introduces High Efficiency SBR(R) Rectifier and Expands Ultra-Miniature DFN1006 Family

DALLAS—(BUSINESS WIRE)—April 24, 2007— Diodes Incorporated (Nasdaq: DIOD), a leading manufacturer and supplier of high-quality application specific standard products within the discrete and analog semiconductor markets, today announced a broad expansion of its ultra-miniature DFN1006 package product family, including an industry leading 0.5 ampere Super Barrier Rectifier, SBR(R), part number SBR05U20LP, offering exceptionally low forward voltage drop combined with the lowest reverse leakage current characteristics available on the market. Occupying only 0.6mm2 of PCB area, this SBR(R) rectifier offers performance typically found in devices more than three times this size. These features provide unsurpassed efficiency, superior reliability, and a large safe operating area. The products are ideally suited to provide secondary rectification in miniature 1/8th and 1/16th brick DC/DC converters and freewheel and reverse polarity protection in small portable electronics applications such as mobile phones, digital audio players and LCD modules.

"Combining our recently acquired SBR(R) technology with our advanced ultra-miniature packaging capability has resulted in a device that is clear evidence to our commitment to push the boundaries of innovation and to position Diodes, Inc. as a technology leader in the application specific standard product market," remarked Dr. Keh-Shew Lu, President and CEO of Diodes Incorporated.

Wide acceptance and strong customer interest in Diodes' DFN1006 package has also expedited the development and introduction of four new general purpose Schottky diodes, two new switching diodes, a series of Zener diodes, and a series of bipolar junction transistors and pre-biased transistors. With this product introduction, Diodes, Inc. offers one of the broadest product lines of performance discrete semiconductors in the ultra-miniature DFN1006 package available industry-wide.

"As manufacturers continue to shrink portable electronic devices like smart phones, portable GPS, and digital media players, the need for near-chip-scale discrete components has increased dramatically," commented Mark King, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing of Diodes, Inc. "The DFN1006 product line expansion provides circuit designers a wide selection of near-chip-scale discrete components to choose from, providing the fundamental discrete functions needed to support the sophisticated application specific and standard integrated circuits that dominate portable electronic circuit design today."
