Ciranova's PCell Xtreme Named Hot 100 Product of 2006 by EDN Magazine

SANTA CLARA, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—January 12, 2007— EDN Magazine has selected PCell Xtreme(TM) from Ciranova(TM), Inc, as one of its Hot 100 Products of 2006. According to the article announcing the Hot 100 Products in EDN Magazine, "Built by and for electronics engineers, this list distills the most innovative and significant products of the year."

"We feel honored to have achieved the distinction of being selected as one of EDN Magazine's Hot 100 Products of 2006," said Ed Petrus, Ciranova's COO & vice president of engineering. "We designed PCell Xtreme to ease the adoption of OpenAccess among advanced IC designers. This award is further evidence of the impact PCell Xtreme is having on the market."

Introduced in 2006, PCell Xtreme's patent-pending technology caches the layout of PCell submasters to accelerate the opening of OpenAccess design databases by 10x or more. In addition, OpenAccess tools from multiple vendors - such as layout tools, design rule checkers and analysis tools - can open the cached data, even if the PCell was written in a proprietary language like SKILL. This 'persistent PCell' approach enables users with a legacy single-vendor infrastructure to migrate quickly into multiple OpenAccess tools with minimal effort and risk.

EDN Magazine states, "Our editors mercilessly cull the herd of new-product announcements they see during the year, resulting in this distillation of the most innovative and significant offerings. If they advanced the state of the art in electronics, they're here." The EDN Hot 100 List can be found at www.edn.com/2006hot100
