Sunplus Ships A/V Products With Kilopass One-Time Programmable Non-Volatile Memory

XPM Picked for Secure Storage, First Products Are Now in Production

SANTA CLARA, CA and HSINCHU SCIENCE PARK, TAIWAN -- (MARKET WIRE) -- December 05, 2006 -- Kilopass Technology, a leading provider of semiconductor non-volatile memory (NVM) intellectual property (IP), announced that Sunplus Technology Co., Ltd. (TAIEX: 2401, FTSE: SUPD) has selected Kilopass' XPM embedded, one-time programmable non-volatile memory technology for its high-end A/V products using a 180nm silicon process. Sunplus products with XPM technology for secure storage, fabricated at one of the world's leading foundries, are shipping now.

According to W.K. Chen, vice president of R&D, Sunplus, "The embedded one-time programmable NVM technology from Kilopass Technology is mature, proven and eliminates risk. The best part is that, with it, we minimized the chip size. Its cost and performance also beat the alternative solutions we considered."

"We are pleased to be part of a world leading IC design company's new A/V products, and welcome them to the growing list of Kilopass customers who have products in production with XPM technology," remarked Charles Ng, Kilopass' VP of worldwide sales and marketing."
