Apache Design Solutions Announces Expansion of India Operations

The company adds sales, support and R&D expertise

Bangalore, October 10, 2006 - Apache Design Solutions, the technology leader in full-chip dynamic power and noise solutions for system-on-chip (SoC) designs, today announced expansion plans for its Indian operations as part of a significant move in the company's overall global expansion strategy. The Indian unit located in Bangalore will continue to provide customer support while leveraging India's elite engineering expertise.

Apache Design Solutions increased its headcount by over 400% in 2006 and plans to double the current headcount in 2007. By expanding its operations in India, Apache aims to gain from the quality talent pool available in the country. India, which is known for its chip design and embedded software expertise, houses over a hundred chip design companies. The expansion of Apache's Indian unit aims at providing around-the-clock worldwide support to its customers.

"India has been recognized as a region with engineering expertise in the high-technology semiconductor and IC markets," said Dr. Andrew Yang, CEO of Apache Design Solutions. "We are committed to ensuring the long term success of our international offices and providing support and engineering excellence to our customers worldwide."

Prashant Pahade will manage Apache's office in Bangalore. Pahade comes to Apache with over fifteen years of EDA experience, most recently at Cadence Design Systems (NASDAQ:CDNS) where he served as Sr. Global Account Executive, North America Sales responsible for six global accounts. Before joining Cadence, Pahade was CEO and founder of Gizmo123, a startup company providing JAVA-based software to manufacturers. Prior to Gizmo123, Pahade held various sales positions at Amit Designs, VLSI Technology and RaviCad/Virtual Chip.

"We are pleased to be able to offer hands on support and resources to our customer base and leverage the world class R&D talent pool in this region," said Prashant Pahade, Managing Director of Apache, India. "The Indian semiconductor industry is growing at a rapid pace. According to the ISA-F&S reports, the VLSI design market revenues witnessed a growth rate of 38.0% in 2005. With India's current growth in the semiconductor industry, now is the time to take advantage of these fine resources and to work closely with the companies already established in the region."

Apache's expansion into India with its already established sales and support presence in Europe, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and the USA is a response to an overwhelming increased customer demand for the company's full-chip dynamic power closure solutions for SoC designs at 130nm processes and below. Apache's worldwide customer base uses the company's solutions from early in the design process through validation to ensure power closure sign-off.

About Apache Design Solutions
Apache is an EDA software supplier of innovative next generation silicon integrity platforms for low-power, high-performance system-on-a-chip (SoC) designs. By considering all sources of noise that impacts the design - such as power, signal, package / system IO, substrate, and temperature - Apache's silicon signoff platform enables designers of leading networking, wireless, communication, consumer and semiconductor companies to detect, fix and prevent design weaknesses that can result in reduced yield or failed silicon. Apache's vendor-neutral platform enables designers to adopt any industry-standard physical design flow and is certified by TSMC's 5.0, 6.0 and 7.0 Reference Flow (NYSE: TSM).

Apache has direct sales and support offices worldwide with over 40 customers, including 7 of the top 10 semiconductor companies. For more information, visit www.apache-da.com
