The BelaSigna 250 RPM comes as a complete digital audio processing system with an EEPROM, power supply regulation and passives tightly integrated on a small form factor board. The module is small enough to fit into existing and new products to create and demonstrate prototypes of portable DSP-enabled audio devices.
To extend the flexibility of the RPM, AMI Semiconductor also offers a companion RPM motherboard that provides access to the communication interfaces and audio signals and provides additional options to power the RPM. This two-board approach allows a very small RPM to easily become a fully configurable and portable BelaSigna 250 demonstrator when docked with the RPM motherboard. This makes it even easier to test and demonstrate capabilities of advanced audio processing algorithms without an investment in hardware design.
"Given the popularity of the BelaSigna 200 RPM in simplifying the design process, we've developed a new RPM for our next-generation BelaSigna 250 audio processor. The BelaSigna 250 RPM is more robust, flexible and even easier to use than the previous version," said David Coode, manager of the audio group within AMIS. "Now, it is easy to validate and qualify the benefits that BelaSigna 250 can bring to portable audio products in a real world environment."
Price and Availability
The BelaSigna 250 RPM and RPM motherboard will begin shipping in limited quantities in September. The RPM is priced at US $250 and US $500 when accompanied with the RPM motherboard. For additional details http://www.amis.com/products/dsp/belasigna_250_rpm.html.
