Intelasys Changes Name to "IntellaSys" in Response to Intel Request; Early-Stage Venture Modifies Former Name to Avoid Confusion With Intel in the Market for Advanced Multicore Processor Solutions Targeting Embedded Applications

CUPERTINO, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—April 28, 2006— Complying with Intel's request, the former Intelasys Corporation today announced it has changed its corporate brand to "IntellaSys" to avoid confusion with Intel-branded multicore chip solutions. The slightly modified brand is being adopted just two weeks before the early-stage venture formally unveils its Scalable Embedded Array(TM) (SEA) platform, which enables advanced multicore processor solutions to operate at high speed and low power in a host of embedded applications.

"Effective immediately, we are now the IntellaSys Corporation," confirmed Chet Brown, president and CEO. "As an enterprise of the TPL Group, which has licensed Intel to use intellectual property protected by the Moore Microprocessor Patent(TM) (MMP) Portfolio, we are especially sensitive to Intel's concerns over the use of our former name." He noted that the new IntellaSys brand will replace the former name in all of his firm's printed and electronic documents over the next month.

Following the formal IntellaSys product launch on May 15, 2006, Chuck Moore, IntellaSys CTO, will present a technical paper on the extraordinary attributes of the SEA Platform during the Spring Processor Forum, which opens the same day in San Jose, California. The MMP Portfolio, which lists global giants Intel, AMD, HP, Casio and Fujitsu among its early licensees, was named after CTO Moore, who was responsible for inventing the intellectual property protected by the Portfolio.

Protected until the year 2015, the MMP intellectual property encompasses techniques widely used in the design of microprocessors, embedded processors, digital signal processors and system-on-chip devices. The management and licensing of the MMP Portfolio is handled by Alliacense, another TPL Group enterprise. For more information, visit www.alliacense.com.
