Tripath to Showcase New Products at the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show; Company Plans to Introduce the First Trivici-Based Amplifier and Display New Class-T iPod Docking Stations and other Consumer Audio Electronics

SAN JOSE, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Dec. 15, 2005— Tripath Technology Inc. (Pink Sheets:TRPH), creators of Class-T(R) 1-bit digital audio amplifiers with Digital Power Processing (DPP(R)), today announced plans to showcase new products at the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Tripath expects to unveil the first product utilizing its Trivici architecture, a form of die-level integration for audio power processing for semiconductors. Tripath intends to demonstrate the Trivici-based product along with other products at CES from January 5-8, 2006 in booth #20766 in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

"Trivici is Tripath's proprietary digital amplifier architecture and represents a breakthrough in audio price and performance," said Dr. Adya S. Tripathi, President and Chief Executive Officer of Tripath. "Trivici is a scalable platform that we plan to leverage in multiple product introductions. This first product, an amplifier for flat-panel TVs, promises to set a new price-for-performance mark for the industry. Trivici reinforces our technological leadership and positions us with multiple market opportunities to support our growth strategy by bringing innovative and cost-effective solutions to our customers."

Tripath maintains the largest portfolio of switching amplifier products in the industry for both audio and communications applications, which are used by leading global consumer electronics companies from the U.S., Japan, China, Europe and other regions. At CES, Tripath will display a wide range of consumer products serving the Television, Home Theater, Automotive, and Consumer Convergence markets, including:

-- Several Class-T powered iPod docking stations. The Class-T amplifiers in these products offer industry-leading efficiency and eliminate the need for bulky heat sinks, enabling docking station makers to provide excellent sound quality and innovative and compact designs.

-- The newest high-power automotive head units from Panasonic. Panasonic is the leader in head unit output power, providing units that deliver twice the power of traditional models. These amplifiers can put out over 70 watts into 4 channels. If you doubt the amount of power they can deliver, come check out a head-to-head challenge with a typical trunk amplifier.

-- The TDA1400, which is a cost effective solution for delivering over 400 watts into one channel, providing cost, weight and power savings without sacrificing sound quality. The TDA1400 is ideal for subwoofers and powered speakers.

-- Solutions for professional and installed audio systems from Elan Home systems, Carver Digital, and others.

-- A variety of convergence products that depend on Class-T to provide superior sound. Products are expected from customers such as Sonos' digital music system that has pulled in honors from CNET Networks, PC Magazine, CE Pro, Popular Mechanics, and many more.

Tripath plans to make additional product announcements around the time of CES.
