Cadence Seeks Silicon Valley Beneficiary for 2006 Stars & Strikes Fundraiser

WHO:    Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:
CDNS) is the world's
        leading electronic design automation company.

WHAT:   Cadence(R) is seeking funding proposals from Silicon Valley
        nonprofit organizations to be the beneficiary of its 2006
        Stars & Strikes(R) fundraising events.

        Underwritten by Cadence, the Stars & Strikes bowling
        competition is their flagship event that brings together local
        companies to raise funds for Silicon Valley charities.

        Projects that will be considered are renovation or new
        construction that improve or increases the nonprofit
        organization's ability to provide services that will have
        lasting impact on those served, as well as on the community.

        Since the amount raised will exceed $500,000, Cadence looks
        for lead or capstone contribution opportunities. Leveraged or
        matched funding resulting from the Stars & Strikes
        contribution is highly desirable.

About the Stars & Strikes Fundraising Event

In May 2005, the Stars & Strikes event raised over $1,000,000 for the Fisher House Foundation, which is building a "comfort home" for the families of veterans and active duty military personnel under the care of the VA Hospital in Palo Alto; as well as supporting the community outreach efforts of the San Francisco 49ers Foundation. Since the fundraising event began in 1990, Stars & Strikes has raised more than $7.5 million for local community organizations. Past beneficiaries include InnVision, Resource Area for Teachers, The Bill Wilson Center and the Children's Discovery Museum, to name a few.
