New Discoveries of Fresh Groundwater Offer Hope to Water-Stressed Regions

VALENCIA, Calif., March 22, 2023 — (PRNewswire) —

New, Sustainable Sources of Fresh Groundwater are Now Available. AquaterreX Reveals Growing Scientific Evidence to Aid Millions.

VALENCIA, Calif., March 22, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- On this World Water Day, 2023, AquaterreX announced that fresh water challenges can be overcome in many water-stressed regions by utilizing new water sources that could provide thousands of years of water supply. New discoveries are supporting the analysis by the U.S. National Groundwater Association that there are 22.6 million cubic kilometers of groundwater in the upper two kilometers of the earth's crust NGWA facts. That is enough water to supply Earth for over 6,000 years at today's global consumption rates.

"New technologies are making it possible to access that water economically," said AquaterreX Chairman and CEO, James D'Arezzo.

"AquaterreX is committed to our mission to broadly implement effective water and food security solutions," continued D'Arezzo. "Many used to consider finding new, fresh, and sustainable groundwater sources pure fantasy, but with these new scientific discoveries continuing to emerge, along with our advanced technologies, it is now a reality."

One example of huge new sources of fresh groundwater being discovered came from Texas. The newly named Maverick Basin Aquifer is known to be at least 3,000 square miles and averages 1,000 feet thick in most places. This comes years after Texas water experts concluded their deeper aquifers are brackish (salty) at best. Water tests on this new aquifer show it comes out of the ground already meeting or exceeding federal and state drinking water standards. Since 2002, scientists have been uncovering evidence of massive amounts of water underground. A peer-reviewed paper in Science magazine claimed, "Earth's lower mantle may store about five times more H2O than the oceans." Science magazine Scientific American reported, "Rare Diamond Confirms That Earth's Mantle Holds an Ocean's Worth of Water." Scientific American

World Water Day, declared annually by the United Nations since 1993, celebrates water and raises the awareness of the two billion people currently living without access to safe water. This year's theme is "Accelerating Change" which we believe is a critical message. AquaterreX specializes in locating underground fresh water. And, by providing sustainable, abundant, fresh water, we hope to help bring about greater peace on this planet through less conflict over water resources. D'Arezzo points out, "the little-known fact is that there is abundant underground fresh water across the planet that could be tapped to solve the crisis."

Fresh Water Factory Beneath Our Feet
There may be a "fresh water factory" beneath our feet. Evidence of this comes from volcanic eruptions which occur constantly all over the planet. The US Geological Survey released an essay on volcanic gases that describes the dangers of these eruptions, but it also states, "by far the most abundant volcanic gas is water vapor, which is harmless." The essay goes on to say, "The 1991 eruption of Mt. Pinatubo is thought to have injected more than 250 megatons of gas into the upper atmosphere on a single day…Further evidence from multiple scientific references report that water comprises between 90% and 97% in measurements of volcanic gases.

The Missing Piece: Deep Seated Water
With this incredibly sustainable resource available, why haven't we tapped it to help solve the growing problems of drought, water contamination, and the stress on shallow aquifers? The answer is two-fold. First, the reality of deep water production has only recently been understood. Second, the technologies to locate and bring to the surface this type of water are only now available. We've coined the term "Deep Seated Water™," which is the missing piece of the freshwater puzzle. It is made up of large quantities of naturally occurring freshwater that collects in aquifers located deep underground – deeper than shallow groundwater. The combination of Geographic Information Systems and advanced instrumentation has, for the first time, enabled the identification of Deep Seated Water to help solve the world's water shortage. With this combination of new technology, we can locate these sources without having to drill deep wells.

The advantages of Deep Seated Water are many:

  • It is a supplemental source of fresh water that can provide water security to a town, city, or country.
  • Deep Seated Water is not subject to pollution from sources such as agricultural runoff, sewage, etc.
  • Adding this source of water to the supply allows surface water and shallow groundwater to recharge.
  • It is an economical and scalable solution that can be implemented quickly.

Deep Seated Water can be accessed economically through underground geologic pathways and channels. Finding them is like finding the proverbial "needle in a haystack." But with today's technology, it can be done with near 100% certainty.

The point is, the cost of drought is enormous. It is a global challenge to achieve one of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, "Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all." However, the cost of drought can be virtually eliminated, and the goal met by using available technology and having the courage to employ it. At AquaterreX, we're doing everything we can to help this World Water Day, 2023, and every day.

About AquaterreX
AquaterreX ( http://www.aquaterrex.com) is a global environmental services organization with a mission to broadly implement effective water and food security solutions. The name AquaterreX comes from the Latin, aqua (water) and French, terre (earth, land) which is a derivative of the Latin, terra, and "X" for exploration. Thus, AquaterreX encompasses water and land solutions for the planet.

The company possesses proprietary technology to locate Deep Seated Water, which is fresh water situated below the shallow groundwater that supplies the majority of fresh water on the planet. This vast new source of water can help solve the water crisis facing billions of people.

AquaterreX acquired the technology in an exclusive licensing agreement with the non-profit Lawrence Anthony Earth Organization in 2018. Since then, a series of enhancements have been made to further improve the accuracy and capability of the technology. AquaterreX continues to partner with The Earth Organization and support its humanitarian efforts to bring effective resolution to environmental issues. http://www.TheEarthOrganization.org
