RIZE Achieves UL GREENGUARD Certification for RIZE 2XC Desktop Industrial 3D Printer, Leading the Industry In Safety

As RIZE’s fifth UL GREENGUARD product, the RIZE 2XC shows that with the RIZIUM Alliance, RIZE’s software and materials help any 3D printer achieve top safety, sustainability

CONCORD, Mass. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — December 16, 2020RIZE, Inc., a an Additive Manufacturing 2.0 company bringing industrial 3D printing to all users and a World Economic Forum (WEF) 2020 Technology Pioneer, announced that its RIZE 2XC desktop industrial 3D printer with its RIZIUM Carbon Filament material has received GREENGUARD Certification. This certification is based on the ANSI/CAN/UL 2904, “Standard Method for Testing and Assessing Particle and Chemical Emissions from 3D Printers.”

The RIZE 2XC is RIZE’s fifth product or material to obtain GREENGUARD certification, and the first product of the RIZIUM Alliance to obtain such certification. The RIZIUM Alliance allows traditional fused deposition modeling (FDM) 3D printer players to implement safer, sustainable, recyclable 3D printing on a variety of platforms, while still delivering highly durable, market leading solutions. The RIZE 2XC certification makes RIZE the number-one provider of GREENGUARD certified products in the 3D printing industry.

Products that are GREENGUARD Certified are scientifically proven to meet some of the world’s most rigorous third-party chemical emissions standards, helping to reduce indoor air pollution and the risk of chemical exposure. A study by Chemical Insights, a Research Institute of Underwriters Laboratories, and Georgia Institute of Technology detailed how volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and ultrafine particles (UFPs) emissions from desktop 3D printers are compromising health and indoor air quality for millions of students, patients, and employees who work near 3D printers in schools, hospitals, offices, and factories. GREENGUARD certification attests that approved devices meet ANSI/CAN/UL 2904, “Standard Method for Testing and Assessing Particle and Chemical Emissions for 3D Printers,” demonstrating that 3D printers can be used without negatively impacting indoor air quality.

RIZE products that have obtained GREENGUARD certification in addition to the RIZE 2XC include the XRIZE full-color composite 3D printer and the RIZIUM Carbon Fiber and RIZIUM ST materials and associated release and marking inks used with it, and the RIZE One monochrome 3D printer and its RIZIUM ONE filament material and associated release and marking inks.

“We congratulate RIZE on yet another milestone in its commitment to safety with the RIZE 2XC desktop 3D printer, and its commitment to the UL GREENGUARD certification” said Alberto Uggetti, vice president and general manager for UL’s environment and sustainability division.

“Sindoh has always made user safety is a top priority, and RIZE has taken this to the next level by meeting the rigorous standards of the UL GREENGUARD program by applying RIZE’s materials and process optimization expertise in the RIZE 2XC,” said BB Lee, CEO, 3D Printing Division at Sindoh Co., Ltd, Korea’s first office automation company which manufactures the RIZE 2XC hardware. “As a member of the RIZIUM Alliance, we are committed to innovating in materials and technologies with RIZE to allow organizations to deploy safe, affordable 3D printing anywhere and everywhere.”

“Organizations can’t afford to compromise team safety when 3D printers are on desktops or in remote workers’ homes adjacent to them and their families,” said Andy Kalambi, CEO of RIZE. “At RIZE we’re proud that the RIZIUM Alliance will lead the industry in UL GREENGUARD compliance and have committed ourselves to adhering to the highest standards of safety and sustainability with 3D printers that are safe for home, work and anywhere.”
