84 Lumber Co. and NIBS Collaborate to Celebrate Women Leaders in the Building Industry

84 Lumber has signed on to sponsor the Women Executives in Building virtual series, reaching female executives and C-suite leaders

(WASHINGTON, DC, November 10, 2020) – The National Institute of Building Sciences has secured sponsorship for its Women Executives in Building: Virtual Leadership Series from 84 Lumber Company.

84 Lumber is a woman-owned and -operated business certified through the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council. Today, 84 Lumber operates more than 250 stores, component manufacturing plants, custom door shops, custom millwork shops, and engineered wood products centers in 30 states, representing the nation’s top markets.

Women Executives in Building is an important series that reaches women in the C-suite in the built environment,” says Lakisha A. Woods, CAE, President and CEO of NIBS. “In this industry, women in the C-suite face unique challenges. As conveners, we believe it is our responsibility to bring this group together to find solutions. We are humbled and proud to receive the recognition and support of 84 Lumber Company to continue this work.”

NIBS hosted the first annual Women Executives in Building Summit in October 2019. The goal: To gather a group of women in the C-suite to share ideas, challenges and solutions to current issues in the built environment.

Since last fall, NIBS has hosted four virtual panel discussions, covering productivity, workforce development, work/life balance, and advancing women to achieve parity in leadership.

The next Women Executives in Building virtual webinar takes place Nov. 19. Visit https://www.nibs.org/WEBVirtual for more information.
