Silicon East Summit to Highlight Semiconductor Industry's Innovation on East Coast; Showcases the Region's Unique High-Tech Community

BOSTON—(BUSINESS WIRE)—March 15, 2005— Silicon East Summit, a full-day event featuring presentations from leading, private semiconductor companies in the Northeast, will be held in Boston on Tuesday, March 29, 2004, at the Boston Marriott Copley Place.

The invitation-only event will assemble semiconductor company executives, financial and industry analysts, bankers, private equity investors, venture capitalists and media from across the country to present the most innovative East Coast companies leading technology advancements in the semiconductor industry.

"As a continual recipient of the second-largest amount of venture funding and home to the highest concentration of semiconductor companies in the U.S. after Silicon Valley, as well as some of the most respected centers for innovation in the country, the Boston area is well-poised to continue producing the market leaders of the future," said Mike O'Neill, general partner of Kodiak Venture Partners. "The Silicon East Summit provides a platform to showcase the top-tier companies in this space and bring together members of our vibrant semiconductor community."

Silicon East Summit will feature presentations from 12 companies and keynote addresses by Dr. Kenneth Kin, SVP Worldwide Sales and Marketing for Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company and Atiq Raza, Chairman and CEO of Raza Microelectronics. The event will begin with a VC panel discussion moderated by O'Neill and include comments from key venture capitalists, including Marko Maschek, director of 3i; Mike Feinstein, a general partner at Venrock Associates; and Dave Aronoff, general partner at Greylock Partners. Presenting companies at Silicon East Summit include Amberwave Systems, Arkados, ASOCS Technologies, Bluespec, Connex Technology, DAFCA, Konarka Technologies, LTRIM Technologies, NEXX Systems, Quantum Leap Packaging, SiGe Semiconductor and TimeLab.

"As the Northeast continues to increase its impact on the semiconductor industry, the Silicon East Summit provides a platform for highlighting some of the area's most promising companies to members of the financial community, offering unprecedented access to key investment decision-makers," said Leanne Sievers, executive vice president of Shelton. "We recognize Boston's unique environment for semiconductor leadership and innovation, and together with Kodiak Venture Partners and the support of our sponsors, this year's event once again provides an opportunity for these companies to gain greater visibility and influence with leading investors."

Silicon East Summit event hosts, Kodiak Venture Partners and Shelton, are joined by sponsors IronHill Partners, Ropes and Gray LLP, and Silicon Valley Bank & SVB Alliant.
