Solido President Amit Gupta Joins Board

San Jose, CA, May 25, 2016 –– The Electronic System Design (ESD) Alliance (formerly the EDA Consortium), an international association of companies providing goods and services throughout the semiconductor design ecosystem, today announced its newly elected nine-member Board of Directors who will serve a two-year term.

Returning board members are:

In addition, Lucio Lanza, managing director of Lanza techVentures, was appointed by the ESD Alliance board in April and Amit Gupta, president of Solido Design Automation, was elected to fill the remaining board seat.

The board was elected by the ESD Alliance’s voting members during the voting period that ended May 20. The new board chair will be elected at the first meeting of the new board June 2.

“As the re-branded ESD Alliance expands its mission to embrace additional areas of the electronic system design ecosystem, it’s gratifying to see the incumbent board re-elected, allowing us to continue on our new path,” remarks Bob Smith, its executive director. “I also welcome Amit, who has been an active member of the Alliance, to share his expertise and experience as a member of the board.”

“I have seen the value of the ESD Alliance for companies of all sizes, having founded multiple EDA companies and contributed to various Alliance activities,” adds Gupta. “I am honored to have been elected to join the distinguished board, and look forward to helping further expand the benefits of the Alliance.”
