Artisan to Present Low-Power Solutions at Synopsys' Galaxy Power Seminars; Seminars Help IC Designers Realize Power-Efficient Designs

SUNNYVALE, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Aug. 3, 2004— Artisan Components, Inc. (Nasdaq: ARTI), a leading provider of physical intellectual property (IP), today announced that it plans to join Synopsys' Galaxy(TM) Power Seminar Series in four USA locations. Artisan will present its Metro(TM) low-power IP solution and discuss ways in which it supports Galaxy Power. Artisan's Metro platform was developed specifically for performance-oriented, portable electronic devices such as mobile phones, personal digital assistants, handheld gaming consoles and portable media players.

The Galaxy Power Seminar offers technical sessions that demonstrate how to address today's toughest power challenges using new capabilities in Synopsys' Galaxy Power solution, including up to a 2X dynamic and 2X-to-10X leakage power reduction, power network synthesis in design planning, power-aware test synthesis, and ATPG, power analysis, and power integrity sign-off.

"Power management at 130 nanometers and below is essential for design closure," said Neal Carney, vice president of marketing at Artisan. "Artisan's long-standing relationship with Synopsys enables us to provide IP support of the Galaxy Power solution that can help IC designers manage dynamic and leakage power and achieve power integrity sign-off. Artisan welcomes the opportunity to join Synopsys at the Galaxy Power seminars, which provide informative sessions where IC designers can hear how to tackle their toughest power challenges and help deliver power-efficient designs."

Artisan plans to present at Synopsys' Galaxy Power seminars in Marlborough, Massachusetts on August 10, 2004, San Diego, California on August 17, 2004, Austin, Texas on August 19, 2004 and Sunnyvale, California on August 24, 2004.
