Optomec to Showcase Latest Advances in 3D Printing of Metals and Electronics at TCT Show

Modular LENS Print Engine for Structural Metals and Aerosol Jet 5-Axis Printer for Electronics highlight exhibition at UK event

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — September 23, 2014 — Optomec, a global supplier of 3D printing systems for production applications, announced today that the company will feature its latest printer systems for both structural and conductive materials at the TCT Show to be held on September 30 – October 2 at the NEC in Birmingham, England. Optomec will showcase its systems on Stand H23 at the event, which annually attracts 10,000 professionals involved in additive manufacturing.

Optomec will demonstrate how its LENS 3D metal printing systems and Aerosol Jet family of printers enable a variety of applications with their production grade 3D printing technology, including multi-material, hybrid manufacturing and repair of metal components, as well as high volume production capability for consumer electronics including sensors and antennas.

Among the highlights of the Optomec exhibition will be:

The LENS Print Engine, a modularized version of the LENS 3D Printing system for metals which can be integrated with standard metal cutting machine tools to easily deploy additive manufacturing as part of existing production infrastructures. The LENS Print Engine offers modular components, including powder feeders, deposition heads, tool path generation software, and quality monitoring systems, as well as how these components can be integrated into an existing or new CNC machine tool.

The recently announced Aerosol Jet 5X system for printing 3D electronics. The system delivers the precision and flexibility required to produce high resolution 3D printed electronics such as conformal antennas, sensors, and circuits used in consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace and medical applications. Equipped with an Optomec Sprint® Print Module and a 5-axis coordinated motion platform, the Aerosol Jet 5X system is ideally suited for 3D printed micro-electronics development applications.

For twenty years TCT has served as a launch pad for innovation and is known globally as the business forum for the latest in 3D design and manufacturing technology. The event features the entire spectrum of 3D printing and additive manufacturing machines in action as well as supporting technologies and software for scanning, digitizing and inspection and for design and manufacturing.
