EDRA@MUSEE D'ORSAY 4.9.14 présente la chaise "Nel Blu Dipinta di Blu" par Jacopo Foggini

Guy Cogeval, President of the Musée d'Orsay and the Orangerie, with Monica Mazzei, Vice president of EDRA, and Jean-François Camarty, General Director of the Elior Group Concessions, present in the historic restaurant at the musée d'Orsay the chair "Nel Blu Bipinta di Blu" created by the artist Jacopo Foggini with EDRA.

The collaboration between the musée d'Orsay in Paris and EDRA continues, togheter with ELIOR , thanks to a new project after the renewal of the Café de l'Horologe, now called "Café Campana", with the great sofa Aster Papposus located in the center of the Living Clock. After choosing the bench "Water Block" by Tokujin Yoshioka, President Guy Cogeval chose the chairs for the renewed prestigious restaurant of the musée d'Orsay, created by the artist Jacopo Foggini and produced by Edra. Thus was born "Nel Blu Dipinta di Blu ".

On September 4, in the Petit Salle of the musée d'Orsay , to celebrate this prestigious collaboration between the company and the famous Parisian museum, the new chair will be presented in the presence of the artist Jacopo Foggini.

"The idea that generated the seat "Nel Blu Dipinta di Blu" can be synthesized as a brushstroke of 4 colors on a incandescent tongue of polycarbonate. To tame this tongue gently, but without the possibility of error, is like playing an instrument in a sacred place in front of an audience of experts. Each chair is a unique piece, a free gesture hand made. Half way between the craftsmanship of a master glassmaker and an abstract pastry chef, where the material to be molded is a material of the future" (Jacopo Foggini).

The translucent shell of the chair is made with a new technique, invented for the occasion, along with the contamination of the color, giving it shape and character. The unusual chair "Nel Blu Dipinta di Blu" is a tribute to the musée D'Orsay and the treasures it contains, as well as the public who annually visit this iconic modern art landmark in Paris. For Edra and for the artist Jacopo Foggini this important collaboration proves to be a prestigious occasion to meet the needs of the highest institutions in the world of art and design. A great honor.
