PCB Library Expert now Supports SoloPCB

Des Plaines, IL – PCB Libraries just released the new version of the Library Expert that creates IPC-7351-compliant footprints for Fabstream’s SoloPCB Design Software - at no cost! The Library Expert is designed with a very short learning curve so PCB designers can use it effectively in (literally) minutes. It uses component data from PDF specification sheets, and based on user requirements, can automatically build and modify entire libraries.

SoloPCB is a CAD tool developed by DownStream Technologies and is offered at no cost as part of their FabStream integrated design and manufacturing solution. SoloPCB delivers features and functionality typically found only in commercial Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools to design without limitation and is the only free PCB tool suite designed with the DIY user in mind to minimize manufacturing delays and to build with confidence.

“We are very excited about this partnership with DownStream Technologies,” said Tom Hausherr, CEO and founder of PCB Libraries. "We are even more excited about the Parts on Demand project that will be integrated with this already powerful software application."

The Library Expert is distributed by IPC along with the IPC-7351 Land Pattern standard, and comes with library documentation consisting of 5,000 components.

The PCB Library Expert currently outputs to formats readable by Allegro, OrCAD PCB, OrCAD Layout, CADint, Altium, DesignSpark, Expedition, PADS Layout, CADSTAR, CR-5000, Pantheon, Pulsonix, P-CAD, Ultiboard, Target 3001!, EAGLE, DipTrace, Board Station, SoloPCB, and 3D STEP models. The company is also building a centralized repository for libraries in all CAD formats.

The Library Expert Lite is free and outputs in all the CAD formats mentioned above. To download it at no cost, register at  www.PCBLibraries.com.
