RISA-Tekla Link Selected as a 2013 Hot Product By Modern Steel Construction Magazine and the American Institute of Steel Construction

National Steel Conference Attendees Vote RISA-Tekla Link as Top Technology Product

ATLANTA, Aug. 7, 2013 — (PRNewswire) — Tekla, a leader in bringing building information modeling (BIM) software to the engineering and construction markets, today announced the RISA-Tekla Link was selected as a hot product by Modern Steel Construction magazine and the American Institute of Steel Construction. The recognition emphasizes products that focus on improving efficiency and increasing integration through the use of computer technology.

Bringing together two leading steel design solutions, the RISA-Tekla Link gives users the combined benefit of the design, detailing and collaboration strengths of Tekla Structures and the comprehensive steel connection design features of RISAConnection.

With Tekla Structures, users create and manage accurately detailed, highly constructible 3D structural models that can be used to ensure success across the entire building process from conceptual design to fabrication, erection and construction management. The RISA-Tekla Link utilizes and extends these capabilities to include steel connection design by RISAConnection directly within the Tekla Structures environment, a critical piece of the overall design process.

"We are excited that conference attendees recognize the value that this link brings to the industry and both software companies," said Amber Freund, director of marketing for RISA Technologies. "Both RISA and Tekla are continuously working toward developing the best solutions possible for automating steel design and engineering."

"Being selected alongside RISA as a 2013 hot product in the eyes of The Steel Conference attendees, Modern Steel Construction magazine and the American Institute of Steel Construction, is a great honor," said Mark Allphin, business manager of the steel segment for Tekla North America. "This recognition by key members of the structural steel industry is testament to the hard work and effort RISA put into developing the link and both companies' efforts in continuously working to improve our solutions to meet and exceed their needs."
