Luxology to Highlight Production Success with modo 601 at SIGGRAPH 2012

Customer Presentations Demonstrate the Power of modo Across an Array of Industries; Show-Specific Crossgrade Offer Makes Adding modo to Existing 3D Pipelines Easy

Los Angeles, Calif. – August 3, 2012 – At SIGGRAPH 2012,  Luxology will host numerous customer presentations that highlight how  modo 601® enhances the creative power of artists and designers around the world. Featured presenters include: Ryan Drue (Concept Artist for ILM) who will speak to the use of modo in ILM's art department and Wes Ball, who will discuss modo’s role on “ RUIN,” an animated short slated to become a feature-length film for 20th Century Fox. This back-to-back  schedule of presentations begins at 9:30 a.m. each morning.

Sharing the booth with Luxology will be Unity Technologies. “modo 601 is the ideal tool for creating high-quality characters and assets for use in the Unity Pro engine,” said Brad Peebler, President of Luxology. “We will be highlighting this workflow as we share exhibit space with our friends at Unity Technologies.”

Since its release, Luxology's flagship software modo 601 has achieved a heightened status as both a pipeline tool for enterprise customers and an all-in-one solution for individual artists. To further the adoption of modo across the 3D industry, Luxology will be offering a “crossgrade" promotion at SIGGRAPH to incentivize users of selected 3D software packages to add modo to their toolsets for just $895 (a 25% savings off the normal list price of $1,195).

"modo 601 is making a big impact across productions in both the design and entertainment industries,” said David Tracy, Community Manager of Luxology. “Now is the ideal time for anyone interested in 3D to explore how they too can do more with modo."

Luxology will also preview upcoming products at SIGGRAPH.  XfrogPlants for modo™ are ready-to-use collections of 3D plants, trees and flowers for landscape design and graphics production. The soon-to-be released  NPR Kit for modo™ will provide modo users with a variety of non-photorealistic rendering options to facilitate the creation of stylized, hand-drawn looks on 3D content.

At the show, Luxology’s SIGGRAPH presence will include attendance at the “Practical Applications of Alembic” Birds of a Feather event on Tuesday, August 7th at 3:00-4:30 p.m.; and participation in the “Using modo with other 2D/3D Content Creation Tools” Birds of a Feather event conducted by the Los Angeles modo Users Group. The latter will be held on Wednesday, August 8th in the Salon 3 room of the Los Angeles Marriott’s Grande Ballroom from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
