GISi Partners with Daytona Beach, FL to Jumpstart ArcGIS for Local Government Implementation

March 21, 2012 -- The City of Daytona Beach, Florida is partnering with GISi to get a jumpstart on their adoption of Esri’s ArcGIS for Local Government initiative. The jumpstart will include standing up the maps and apps gallery, deploying selected apps, implementing the local government information model, and performing knowledge transfer.

The city completed a GIS HealthCheck last year and has been focused on working through the short and mid term objectives. The goal for this project builds on that momentum to help the city embrace ArcGIS for Local Government to support the “growing demand” of citizen engagement. “The GIS HealthCheck provided us with a long term vision for our GIS, including reviving our GIS Steering Committee,” said John Clary, IT Manager at the City of Daytona Beach. “Our steering committee sees great value with Esri’s ArcGIS for Local Government initiative and we see the jumpstart package and implementation as our next big step toward meeting our goals, not to mention supporting our commitment to engaging our citizens.”

GISi, an Esri Platinum Partner, is looking forward to working with local governments to adopt and extend the Local Government Information Model and to contribute to the maps, apps, and tools that will be made available. “Our objective is to help Local Governments embrace the resources available from Esri’s ArcGIS for Local Government and see it as a way to help them maximize their investment in Esri technology,” says Kevin Stewart, Account Manager at GISi.
