Urban Mapping Enhances Industry Leading Neighborhood Boundary Data and Technology; Expands International Coverage

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Apr 07, 2011 -- Urban Mapping, Inc (UMI), a leading provider of geospatial data and technology services, today announced updates to the company's market leading Neighborhoods database, which now includes nearly 110,000 neighborhoods in over 3,500 cities across the United States, Canada, and Europe and now Latin America and Australia. The update includes neighborhood listings and welcome mats for these new international cities: Nantes, France; Geneva, Switzerland; Melbourne, Australia and Mexico City, Mexico. These updates are all a result of UMI's own local research and verified customer feedback.

Urban Mapping also announced a new data ordering capability for their Neighborhoods API. The new data ordering allows users to define and control both the level of granularity and the order in which neighborhoods are returned from the initial API call. This upfront control reduces time spent later on filtering, organizing and expanding results. The new technology will be incorporated for all current Neighborhoods customers.

About Urban Mapping's Neighborhoods
Urban Mapping's neighborhood boundary database is the most comprehensive product of its kind, enabling increased relevance for users and greater precision for advertisers. By geographically encoding boundaries of thousands of neighborhoods, UMI provides precise latitude and longitude points for every neighborhood. At the same time, Urban Mapping's patent-pending Smart Boundary technology gives boundaries the flexibility to capture the natural variance in human perception of informally defined spaces. The neighborhood data can be accessed through a simple and cost-effective API and is also available in other formats including XML, KML, CSV and SHP.
