3DPhotoWorks Introduces First-of-its-Kind 3D Photographic Printing

Innovative Printing Technology Adds Physical Depth to 2D Photographs, Transforming Company Images and Brands into Instant Focal Points for Consumers

CHATHAM, N.Y. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — March 16, 2011 — 3DPhotoWorks ( www.3dphotoworks.com), creator of full color 3D Photographic Prints, today announced the launch of its flagship product, an original three-dimensional bas-relief photographic display graphic created with the company’s highly innovative, custom-made printing process. For any business seeking a new method to attract the wandering eye of consumers, including those in the amusement and theme park, retail display, sign and exhibition industries, 3DPhotoWorks produces remarkable images that easily inspire second and third looks.

Using any 2D image, 3DPhotoWorks display graphics are produced through a multi-step process using a proprietary technology developed by its staff of 3D designers, technicians and engineers:

1. Through an innovative software solution, a 2D image is converted to 3D by a specialist.

2. The 3D data is then sculpted to a relief depth of up to 1.75” inches.

3. The 2D data is then printed in register onto the 3D relief using a patent-pending process.

“The technology we have developed goes well beyond the traditional stereoscopic imaging consumers are familiar with, making it unlike any other print product on the market,” said Dominick Insana, vice president of national sales, 3DPhotoWorks. “For industries where branding or messaging can get lost in a sea of competitors, our unique images cause double-takes and give businesses that extra critical moment to grab consumer attention.”

3D Photographic displays are a hybrid product: part photographic, in which they capture accurate color and life-like features and part artisan relief sculpture, in that they rise from the background to meet the viewer, adding depth that accurately conveys the finest details of the photograph. 3DPhotoWorks’ technology encourages the consumer to touch the product they are considering before buying. For consumers high on the “desire to touch” scale, this is especially important in the decision making process. Prices for 3DPhotoWorks pricing vary dependant on print size, available up to 4’ x 8’.
