ESRI (UK) and Microsoft “Remove the Boundaries” for GIS integration

September 14, 2009 -- Aylesbury: ESRI (UK), the market leader in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) solutions, and Microsoft are running an event to demonstrate how their technologies together help remove the boundaries to businesses’ return on investment (ROI).

The free one day event at Microsoft’s headquarters in Reading on Tuesday 20 October 2009 will highlight the ease of integration between ESRI’s ArcGIS 9.3.1 and Microsoft technology, the latest trends in GIS and the business case for using an enterprise-wide GIS.

ESRI (UK) and Microsoft have worked together for over two decades to provide enterprise-strength technology needed to analyse, understand, question, interpret, visualise, and provide geographic data in any organisation.
Charles Kennelly, Chief Technology Officer, ESRI (UK), who is speaking at the event said: “ArcGIS is open in its design and embraces the Microsoft platform. This event builds on a series of initiatives we are running with Microsoft to demonstrate how these world-leading technologies work together to provide genuine opportunities for GIS to improve business processes while delivering a return on investment.”

Aimed at GIS users, analysts, application developers and GIS managers, people attending the ‘Removing the Boundaries’ event will also benefit from finding out what's new in ESRI’s ArcGIS 9.3.1, discovering how the latest ESRI (UK) and Microsoft technology can improve business processes, and meeting with technical experts from ESRI (UK) and Microsoft to pick up tips and tricks.

Charles Kennelly will discuss ESRI’s products and will highlight how they can be used to get the most out of the Microsoft platform. Other speakers include Johannes Kebeck, Microsoft Geospatial Technologist and Nick Chapallaz, Strategy Director, from ESRI (UK) who will present the business case for GIS and how it offers added value for organisations.

Registration for the event is online through www.esriuk.com/esrimicrosoft09
