Pro Design Electronic Signs Worldwide OEM License for Concept Engineering's Nlview(TM) Visualization Engine

FREIBURG, Germany—(BUSINESS WIRE)—June 9, 2008— Concept Engineering today announced that Pro Design Electronic GmbH, a global service provider and manufacturer in the electronics industry, has signed a worldwide OEM license for Concept Engineerings Nlview visualization engine. Integrated into the Pro Design CHIPit Software Environment, the Nlview engine will provide an easy-to-use, high performance debugging cockpit for Pro Designs end users and faster time to market for the new Pro Design CHIPit product family.

Pro Design has more than 26 years of experience as a service provider and manufacturer in the electronics industry. The companys CHIPit family of high-speed ASIC Prototyping Systems is used for the verification and co-development of application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) and systems-on-chip (SoCs) and shortens development time dramatically by eliminating costly respins and by providing early prototypes for software development or end customers. Nlview will be bundled and fully embedded into the CHIPit Software Environment to provide advanced debugging features such as visualization of critical paths and critical circuit fragments as well as easy navigation through the design hierarchy.

When Pro Design was faced with the task of building a complete design implementation flow to handle all required tasks from RTL code import through design partitioning to in-circuit operation, we needed a debugging cockpit that exactly fit our needs, said Heiko Mauersberger, CTO of Pro Design. The performance, robustness and rich feature set of Nlview met that need and helped us to meet a tight development schedule with a first-class, industry-proven schematic generation and drawing engine.

The Nlview software family automatically generates schematics at the transistor, gate, register-transfer, block and system level, providing advanced visualization technology to EDA tool developers who develop debugging cockpits for EDA tools. When integrated with EDA tools, the Nlview engine helps designers of electronic integrated circuits (ICs) and SoCs to visualize such critical information as circuit structure, parasitic components, timing data and signal values at any design level, so they can more easily and accurately tune designs for maximum performance and more quickly locate and correct errors in their designs.

With over 300 CHIPit systems installed worldwide, Pro Designs CHIPit ASIC Prototyping platform is the solution of choice for many leading companies developing advanced ASICs and SoCs, said Gerhard Angst, president and CEO of Concept Engineering. It gives us great pleasure that our visualization engine is part of Pro Designs exciting new tools.

Pro Design is currently shipping CHIPit with the bundled Nlview engine. Product demonstrations can be seen at the Pro Design booth, #344, at the 45th Design Automation Conference (DAC 2008) in Anaheim, California, from June 9 through June 12. Concept Engineering also will be exhibiting at DAC, in booth #2037.
