President of the MathWorks to Deliver Keynote At DAC 2008

NATICK, Mass.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—June 2, 2008— At this years Design Automation Conference (DAC), The MathWorks will be in Booth 741 to show how Model-Based Design accelerates electronic system and embedded software development through interactive demonstrations of workflows for system and algorithm design, code generation, and verification. The MathWorks will also demonstrate products that enhance the verification capabilities of the MATLAB and Simulink product families with its tools for applications such as multi-domain system design and verification, embedded software code generation, and HDL code generation for system implementation.

The MathWorks will participate in the following events at this years conference:

  • Keynote Address, Thursday, June 12, 12:45 p.m.1:45 p.m., Ballroom ABC

Jack Little, president and co-founder of The MathWorks, will give a keynote address entitled Idea to Implementation: A Difference Perspective on System Design, which will discuss the use of Model-Based Design to solve the growing challenges of electronic systems and embedded software development.

  • Panel Discussion, Tuesday, June 10, 4:30 p.m.6:00 p.m., Room 210CD

Giovanni Mancini, product marketing manager at The MathWorks, will join panelists from University of California, CoWare, Cadence Design Systems, IBM, and Sony Corporation in a panel entitled ESL Hand-Off: Fact or EDA Fiction? This panel compares new ESL tools to current register transfer level (RTL)based tools and discusses the idea of ESL hand-off being the next step in design.

  • Tutorial, Friday, June 13, 9:00 a.m.5:00 p.m., Room 210CD

Mike Woodward, semiconductor industry marketing manager at The MathWorks, will jointly present a tutorial entitled System-Level Design for Embedded Systems, with experts from University of California, Boeing, and Xilinx, which will provide a comprehensive introduction to the use of system-level design techniques for high-productivity hardware and software embedded software development.
