Intelleflex Debuts Extended Capability RFID Tag for Use in Challenging RF Environments

SANTA CLARA, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—September 25, 2007— Intelleflex Corporation, the leader in Extended Capability RFID, today announced the availability of the SMT-7100, an advanced RFID tag with exceptional performance around metal, liquid and other materials that can significantly hamper RFID function. Intelleflex's SMT-7100 tag delivers extended range, reliability, memory and security for on-edge reads at multiple angles which is a vital requirement for RFID to work in challenging real-world environments.

Intelleflex's SMT-7100 tag ensures optimized multi-path reads, with its patent pending "inverted F-plane" antenna design, which results in increased reliability around metallic objects and materials. The tag also has an IP67 rating, which protects against environmental conditions such as moisture, dust and vibrations. Additionally, the tag's durable new design guards against physical impact and damage to the tag. With multiple mounting options, the SMT-7100 provides robust, reliable operation in the most demanding real-world situations.

"As a provider of Automation Technology to many of the world's leading manufacturing companies, Van Meter Industrial partners with industry leaders. When we needed to provide an RFID solution for tracking Work-in-Process throughout large facilities, Intelleflex's technology was superior compared to others we evaluated," said Jim Lass, VP of Advanced Technology at Van Meter Industrial. "Their product coupled with outstanding support allowed us to provide a powerful system for identifying and tracking the movement of assets. Intelleflex designs with the end user in mind, and the new SMT-7100 truly addresses the challenges of real-world customer environments."

"As Intelleflex continues to grow, we are expanding our offerings to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers. We continue to develop and broaden our product portfolio to offer the extended capabilities required to enable solutions to their diverse business problems," said Sam Liu, Director of Marketing at Intelleflex. "It is our goal to bring new products to market that will work effectively in real-world environments at a reasonable cost."

The SMT-7100 adds to the Intelleflex Extended Capability RFID product portfolio. In addition to its STT-7000 multi-purpose tag, Intelleflex also offers multi-protocol readers which are based on EPC and ISO standards and are capable of reading C1G2 as well as C3 tags.

Intelleflex's SMT-7100 tag is currently available for shipping. Demonstrations of the tag will be available at Intelleflex's booth at EPC Connection in Chicago, October 2-4.
