About the Silicon Navigator Business Model

The Silicon Navigator business model is based on licensing Application Programming Interface (API) based infrastructure and engines for chip design. The company provides EDA development tools and support to build products providing APIs to all components. The company bases its software on standards such at Qt, OpenGL, C++, TCL, Python and OpenAccess. Standards preserve customer investment and enable cross-pollination of technologies and resources from other industries. The Rocket Design Environment (RDE™) framework's architecture represents the next generation of EDA software where core algorithms are simply inserted into a common infrastructure. Interoperability lowers barriers to adoption, minimizing investment for new tools.

About Silicon Navigator's Rocket Environment

The Rocket Design Environment includes tools that CAD developers can use to speed the adoption of the OpenAccess database and customize a design cockpit. It offers a desktop and Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs), data and script viewers and APIs. It can be used stand-alone or in conjunction with other commercial OpenAccess environments.

About OpenAccess

OpenAccess is a community effort to provide true interoperability among IC design tools through an open standard data API and reference database supporting that API for IC design. The OpenAccess Coalition is a neutral organization of industry leaders that are leading this effort operating under Si2 bylaws. Website: www.si2.org
