Alliance Semiconductor Expands Mixed Signal Family to Include PWM Controllers with Integrated EMI Reduction; PWM Controllers Provide Integrated EMI Reduction Capability for More Compact SMPS Designs With Reduced BOM Cost

SANTA CLARA, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—June 27, 2005— Alliance Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ: ALSC), a leading worldwide provider of analog and mixed signal products, high-performance memory products, connectivity and networking solutions for the communications, computing, embedded, industrial and consumer markets, today announced the availability of its newest family of Pulse Width Modulator (PWM) Controllers with Integrated Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) Reduction Technology for Low Noise Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS) Converter and Inverter applications.

System power supply designers are confronted with extremely challenging design parameters in dealing with power consumption, physical space limitations, and EMI reduction issues to meet the required regulatory standards (like FCC, CSA, CSIPR, etc).

This family of PWM controllers is designed to replace the extremely popular series of "184X/384X" PWM controllers in a wide range of Switched Mode Power Supply applications, but with the unique additional advantage of a built-in EMI reduction engine. This additional EMI reduction capability has been achieved by implementing Alliance Semiconductor's proprietary Spread Spectrum Modulation technology.

Alliance Semiconductor expects to continue the product expansion as the line continues its evolution into even higher performance product offerings that address new SMPS markets demanding effective, inherent EMI reduction capability.
