USGIF Now Accepting Nominations for its 2019 Awards Program

The Foundation annually recognizes outstanding achievements in the Geospatial Intelligence Community

Herndon, Virginia (Jan. 10, 2019) — The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) is now accepting nominations for its 2019 Awards Program.

The USGIF Awards Program annually recognizes the exceptional work of the global geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) tradecraft’s brightest minds and most innovative organizations. The program shines a spotlight on outstanding GEOINT achievements in five categories: academic, community support, government, industry, and military. Nomination forms may be downloaded here and the application deadline is March 7.

“Who are the best and brightest in your organizations?” said Kevin Jackson, chair of the USGIF Awards Subcommittee. “What are the game-changing innovations being developed on the second floor or down the hall? What impact was realized as a result of your program? Who were the collaborators that contributed to the success? These questions apply across all five USGIF Award categories. Your challenge is to answer them. The 2019 USGIF Awards nomination period is now open and I humbly ask for your participation.”

Any individual, team, or organization engaged in GEOINT and related fields including nontraditional technologies and capabilities—whether in global security, open-source information, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, location-based applications, virtual and augmented reality, and beyond—is encouraged to apply.

The awards will be presented on stage during the general session at USGIF’s GEOINT 2019 Symposium, scheduled for June 2-5 in San Antonio, Texas. Visit usgif.org/community/usgifAwards to learn more about the program, view past award recipients, and to submit a nomination.
