KairoiCareLogic Launches State of the Art Medical Practice Scheduling Optimization Software

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- Jan 12, 2015 -- KairoiCareLogic, scheduling optimization software that improves medical office workflow and profitability, has demonstrated that its data-driven intuitive software application can identify opportunities to increase office visits from 11 to 23 percent.

"The most recent demonstrations of our easy to implement, customized scheduling templates in Ob/Gyn and primary care offices have proven that our unique approach is unmatched in the healthcare industry," said John Golenski, Ed.D., chief executive officer of KairoiCareLogic.

The KairoiCareLogic process generates customized scheduling software templates for medical offices that are based on historical data generated through on site analysis and observation.

"No other scheduling solution starts with expert on-site evaluation and data analysis to develop a truly customized patient flow management system that yields immediate results," said Golenski.

KairoiCareLogic was developed by experts in clinic operations and logistics analysis. The two-part approach -- onsite analysis followed by creation of customized templates and weekly dashboard reports -- enables practices to manage critical workflow variables, including:

- Complexity of visits
- Average visit length
- Number of exam rooms
- Provider preferences and contingency time
- Non-physician staff
- Payment source

"Most scheduling programs lack the sophistication necessary to use historical data, analyze it, and generate easy to manage templates that handle multiple variables in the real world," said Russell D. Lee, Ph.D., chief technology officer for KairoiCareLogic. "In contrast to bolt-on generic software tools, we enable medical practices to optimize scheduling based on their unique practice patterns, patient population, and physician preferences."

KairoiCareLogic optimizes appointment availability and resource use, but also identifies critical underlying productivity issues that impact both physician and patient satisfaction. In one clinic, analysis revealed that no-shows and late cancellations were much higher than known -- over 20%. Analysis also revealed a wide variation in the time spent by physicians completing administrative tasks after hours.

"Some providers reported spending 7 or 8 minutes per patient, while others needed up to 34 minutes," said Lee. "Information like this is essential if medical offices want to identify best practices and create programs that support physicians in ways that enhance satisfaction and morale."
