Pushing optimization forward: modeFRONTIER 4.5 out now

Trieste, (Italy) | September 16th, 2013 – A simplified user experience, a new run analysis dashboard for smart evaluation monitoring and a refactored architecture which enables the smart handling of complex multidisciplinary projects: modeFRONTIER ® evolves to provide design engineers with the most up-to-date optimization technology available.

ESTECO SpA, a leading provider of numerical optimization solutions for engineering design, today announced the release of modeFRONTIER ® 4.5 - the new version of the multidisciplinary and multi-objective optimization design environment. The updated software includes new features and improvements aimed at increasing engineering productivity and shortening the design cycle.

Workflow building and chart creation have never been easier with the new customizable drag&drop Palette, - a new GUI component that substitutes the Buttons Bar and Buttons Panel -and the new Parameter Chooser which makes integration with third party software even simpler. A stand-out new features is the Run Analysis dashboard which provides complete control over the ongoing optimization process. Its intelligent graphic tools ensure real-time monitoring of the design evaluation progress, providing useful insights into process performance.

On the numerical side, a variety of tools have been enhanced to increase accuracy and confidence throughout the optimization process. High-fidelity metamodels can be created with very little manual effort owing to the new RSM Validation procedure; MORDO, the modeFRONTIER tool for Multi-Objective Robust Design Optimization, offers improved capabilities for handling uncertainties related to real-world problems; and when its comes to making the final choice, the new MCDM (Multi-Criteria Decision Making) wizard-based solution facilitates the interactive decision making process.

Major improvements have reshaped the workflow architecture. Complex engineering projects can now be easily streamlined using two powerful tools included in the new modeFRONTIER release: the Sub-Process Node and the Scheduling Project Node. The former can autonomously execute independent processes - modular and re-usable – that map data input to data output, skipping the optimization phase. The latter allows engineers to combine and automate multiple design exploration and optimization tasks and set up nested or hierarchical optimizations.
