SuVolta to Discuss the Latest Advances in Device Technology at ARM(R) TechCon 2011

LOS GATOS, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Oct 04, 2011 -- SuVolta, Inc., a developer of low-power CMOS semiconductor technologies, today announced that its Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Scott Thompson, will join industry experts in presenting papers and the latest advancements in technology and IC design at ARM® TechCon 2011.

On October 25, Dr. Thompson will provide an overview of advanced transistor technologies, comparing FinFET, SOI, and planar, bulk technologies at the 22nm node and below. Dr. Thompson will discuss the advantages and limitations of each technology, along with the applicability for SoC (system on chip) implementation.

SuVolta recently announced its Deeply Depleted Channel™ (DDC) transistor technology and PowerShrink™ low-power CMOS platform, which reduces IC power consumption by 50 percent or more while maintaining circuit performance. The novel DDC transistor structure enables scaling (reduction) of two of the most critical transistor parameters -- scaling of supply voltage, and scaling of transistor size to the sub-20nm node -- yet it remains compatible with existing fabrication facilities and design technologies.
